The Youth Travel Foundation is seeking applications for its grant program to support the personal and professional development of teenagers and young adults through travel.
The goal is to build a more tolerant world where fear and ignorance give way to benevolence, openness and solidarity.
The Youth Tourism Foundation’s mission is to promote the training and education of young adults through travel. Each year, it awards scholarships to young explorers who submit original, realistic and reflective travel projects. Since its creation in 1993, the Foundation Tourisme Jeunesse has helped more than 600 young people to discover the world, contributing to their personal and professional development.
Type of Grants
Solo Travel Grant: It is intended for young travelers who wish to volunteer, acquire new skills or develop their professional career in an environment outside of their country of residence.
Group Travel Grant: It will be awarded to a group planning a trip that will provide the participants with a deeper understanding of intercultural differences and allow them to embark on a journey contributing to their personal development.
Funding Information
- Solo Travel Grant Amount: $1,000
- Group Travel Grant Amount: $1,500
Eligibility Criteria
- Solo Travel candidate must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and reside in Canada
- Be between 18 and 35 years old on the departure date
- Pursue a travel-related project with personal and professional development goals, unrelated to a formal academic program or commercial activity
- Group Travel candidates must:
- The group must consist of 10 people minimum and the members must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and reside in Canada
- The travelers must be less than 35 years old (except chaperon) and if the group consist of under aged participants, they must be accompanied by an adult for the whole duration of the trip
- Pursue a travel-related project with a purpose other than tourism, cruises, commercial activities or formal academic activities and internships
