Grants to promote Peace and Prevention of Violent Extremism in Tunisia

The UN Women Tunisia and the National Commission for the Fight against Terrorism are accepting a call for proposals from civil society actors which aims to strengthen the economic and social empowerment of women, girls and young people in Tunisia.

Support the integration of gender in the “National Strategy to Combat Violent Extremism and Terrorism 2023-2027” by offering training to associations, young people and defenders of gender equality to respond to indications and demonstrations violent extremist speeches. Spread messages of equality, social cohesion, peace building and prevention of violent extremism at the community level and among young people, women and girls.

Support local initiatives aimed at preventing violent extremism carried out by young women and men for young people. In 2016, the Tunisian government adopted the National Strategy to Combat Extremism and Terrorism (SNLCET), which incorporates four pillars: prevention, protection, prosecution and response.
