UN Women is calling for proposals to Support Governmental Partners, Women Leaders, and CSOs in their Efforts to Implement the GEWE, WPP, and WPS Agenda in Iraq and Yemen.
UN Women Iraq builds on the results achieved to date and continue to strengthen the engagement of strategic partners and relevant actors towards supporting UN-Women mandate in Iraq, fostering an ongoing dialogue on relevant gender-related issues. By making use of its capacity, knowledge and lessons learned on GEWE, WPS and WPP, UN Women will also focus on providing specialized technical support and involve relevant actors in capacity building initiatives with a view of enhancing the gender responsiveness of relief and development initiatives.
Objectives
Support Governmental Partners, Women Leaders and CSOs in their efforts to implement the GEWE, WPP and WPS agenda – Iraq & Yemen Cluster Office. The objective falls under the following Impact Areas/SP Outcomes and Output Clusters.
Impact Areas
- Women lead, participate in and benefit equally from governance systems
- Women and girls contribute and have greater influence in building sustainable peace and resilience, and benefit equally from the prevention of natural disasters and conflicts and from humanitarian action.
Funding Information
The budget range for this proposal should be[Min. $200,000–Max. 230,000 $per NGO]
Outcomes
- Iraq
- Enhanced government accountability, capacity, and will to promote women’s leadership and implementation of international commitments on gender equality and women’s rights
- Women Machineries have increased capacity to promote women’s leadership and participation in decision making
- Yemen
- Yemeni women and Youth participate in and influence the peace and security processes in Yemen
- Better Strategic engagement and coordination with actors from tracks I and II to facilitate women’s participation in peace processes
Competencies
In the selection of partners, the following competencies will be considered:
- The soundness of technical competency described in the approach to the project as described in the Terms of Reference for the Call for Proposals, to be demonstrated by a track record of successful programmatic interventions
- Capacity to deliver expected results: governance and management competency, and financial and administrative competency, demonstrated by previous partnerships with UN Women orother donor organizations;
- The relevance of the mandate and the role of the organization to implement expected results and to contribute to the sustainability of said results, demonstrated by expertise in gender-related work and community outreach
