Grants to Support the Implementation of Inclusive Gender Equality Plans

The European Commission has announced the proposals to support the Implementation of Inclusive Gender Equality Plans.

Scope

• The institutional change strategy implemented through gender equality plans has had very positive impacts in many research organisations and been a catalyser at national and EU level, as the latest ERA progress report has shown. However, there is a heterogeneity in the implementation of Gender Equality Plans across the EU, and persisting structural barriers in R&I institutions which must be addressed, through a renewed approach.
• The inclusion scheme aims to strengthen and go beyond the minimum requirements for a Gender Equality Plan (GEP) as defined in Horizon Europe eligibility criteria, and to support the implementation of inclusive GEPs in line with the new ERA Communication and gender equality objectives.

Funding Information

The check will normally be done for the coordinator if the requested grant amount is equal to or greater than EUR 500 000, except for:

• public bodies (entities established as a public body under national law, including local, regional or national authorities) or international organisations; and
• cases where the individual requested grant amount is not more than EUR 60 000 (lowvalue grant).

Expected Outcomes

Projects are expected to contribute to the following expected outcomes:

• Enhance the reputation, attractiveness, inclusiveness and research excellence of less advanced institutions as a result of implementing inclusive gender equality plans.
• Transform institutions to advance inclusive gender equality within the European Research Area (ERA).

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for funding, applicants must be established in one of the eligible countries, i.e.:

• the Member States of the European Union, including their outermost regions;
• the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) linked to the Member States;
• eligible non-EU countries:
  • countries associated to Horizon Europe
  • low- and middle-income countries.
