UN Women Afghanistan seeks a responsible partner to deliver livelihood skills and business development training to women entrepreneurs and to provide grant equipment support to women-led businesses in six provinces of Afghanistan (Balkh, Bamyan, Herat, Kandahar, Nangarhar, and Kabul).

The objective is to train 300 women entrepreneurs in six provinces, in an in-house minimum 7-days long training. Upon completion of the training, every woman shall have finalized a business plan that she will pitch to the project panelists. Successful candidates will subsequently benefit from equipment support, six months coaching and mentorship by business coaches.

Women entrepreneurs affected by economic hardship, in the six provinces (Kabul, Bamyan, Balkh, Kandahar, Nangarhar and Herat) in the five regions of Central Highland, North, South, East and West across Afghanistan are supported with business development services (BDS)and assets provision to kick off their business ideas and/ or upgrade their businesses to secure their livelihoods.

The project aims to promote women-led businesses and to strengthen women’s economic agency.

Funding Information

The budget range for this proposal should be US$ 500,000 – US$ 600,000 for a 12-months proposal in support of a minimum of 300 women beneficiaries/women-led businesses in six provinces.

Duration

UN Women is seeking partners to implement projects of up to 12 months. The indicative project dates are end of May 2022 to end of May 2023. The actual project start and end dates will be determined at the Partner Agreement signature stage.
