BFSS Grant Program to Support Charitable Organisations in the UK (Autumn 2023)

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified entities to implement the Basic Education Quality and Transitions project.

The Basic Education Quality and Transition (BEQT) activity, also referred to as the Activity, will improve foundational reading, writing, math, and social and emotional skills acquisition for children and youth through the formal education system and will increase the transition rate of students from primary to lower secondary education in targeted rural municipalities of Guatemala. The Activity is planned to be an initial award with a follow-on transition award1 to local subrecipient(s), and as such will aim to strengthen the organizational and technical capacities of local subrecipient(s) to manage funds from USAID or other donors and to sustain key components of the Activity.

The Activity will work with USAID and the MOE to select up to three municipalities in each of the departments. The selection of the municipalities should consider the following factors, especially with regards to marginalized and vulnerable populations such as indigenous groups, girls/women, and youth:
