The Northern Territory Government (NTG) has announced Healthy Lifestyle Grants 2021-2022 for not for profit organisations.
Funding Information
The Department of Health is providing grants of up to $30,000 for 2021-2022 for healthy lifestyle projects to:
- Increase participation in physical activity by those who are inactive or semi-active
- Increase the consumption of water and healthy food and decrease the consumption of unhealthy food and sugary drinks
- Create health promoting environments in the places where people spend their time
What can be Funded?
- Physical activity initiatives that inactive or semi-active people have indicated they will participate in or there is evidence of similar successful initiatives with the target group
- Limited equipment (e.g. water fountains installed in key locations to increase the consumption of water or exercise equipment in parks could be funded as part of a broader proposal)
- The development or implementation of policies that create health promoting environments in places where those living in the local government area spend their time (e.g. childcare centres, schools, workplaces, shops, parks, food outlets, leisure centres and sporting clubs)
- Projects that improve the health literacy of people living in the local government area
- Projects that partner with local businesses or community groups to build healthier communities
Eligibility Criteria
Funding is available to not for profit organisations only.
- To be eligible for funding an organisation must:
- be physically located and actively operating in the NT
- have adequately demonstrated that the grant will not duplicate funding already provided under this or other Northern Territory Government funding sources
- have met acquittal requirements for all previous Northern Territory Government grants and complied with all other accountability requirements
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- Types of organisations that are eligible for funding include:
- Aboriginal Corporation
- Incorporated Association
- Local Government Entity
- Not for-profit organisations.
