The National Heritage Board (NHB) has launched Heritage Grants Scheme to provide funding support for individuals and non-profit groups to develop heritage-related projects that promote the learning and appreciation of Singapore’s history and heritage.
Funding Information
- The Minor Project Grant (supporting up to 50% of relevant total project costs, subject to a cap of $50,000) supports a wide range of community heritage projects; these include programmes, events, and exhibitions.
- The Major Project Grant (supporting up to 50% of relevant total project costs, subject to a cap of $150,000) aims to provide a higher level of support for projects with the potential to make a significant and lasting contribution to Singapore’s heritage scene.
- Projects must be completed within 24 months from grant award date, or within the approved Project Schedule in the Letter of Award.

- First-timers, with little/no experience in heritage projects.
- Starter projects.
- Projects on recurring heritage themes.
- School Heritage.
- Corners/Galleries.
- Projects costs typically below S$100,000.
- Major Project Grant
- Applicants with experience in developing heritage projects.
- Applicants with good track record in grant projects.
- Impactful projects that address a research gap.
- Projects on lesser-known heritage themes, ethnic communities, traditions, and trades.
- Projects costs typically S$100,001 and above.

Eligibility Criteria
- Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents aged 18 years old and above, and residing in Singapore.
- Non-profit organisations, locally registered interest groups and clans/associations.
- Non-profit educational institutions and educational institutions under the purview of Ministry of Education (MOE).
- Informal groups with a nominated individual or local legally constituted organisation (to take legal and financial responsibility for the grant).
- Individuals who are applying for the Major Project Grant must apply with a co-applicant; and projects must have a confirmed partnership with a registered society.
Ineligible
- Local/Foreign public institutions receiving operational funding from government agencies.
- Existing Heritage Grants recipients, or recipients with outstanding grant repayments.
- Applicants who are involved in other ongoing NHB grant projects.
- For-profit organisations.
