The High Commission of Canada in Kenya is seeking proposals for its Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) 2017-2018 with an aim to support gender equality and empowerment of women and girls.
Program Themes
- Burundi:
- Promoting human development, specifically in the areas of health, nutrition, and education;
- Championing human rights, inclusive and accountable governance;
- Empowering women and girls and promoting gender equality.
- Kenya:
- Empowering women and girls and promoting gender equality;
- Championing human rights, inclusive and accountable governance;
- Supporting inclusive and green economic growth.
- Rwanda:
- Championing human rights, inclusive and accountable governance;
- Promoting human development, specifically in the areas of health, nutrition, and education;
- Supporting inclusive and green economic growth.
- Somalia:
- Promoting human development, specifically in the areas of health, nutrition, and education;
- Promoting peace and security;
- Championing human rights, inclusive and accountable governance.
- Uganda:
- Championing human rights, inclusive and accountable governance.
- Promoting action on the environment, including water and climate change.
Funding Information
- The average contribution is expected to be in the range of CAD $15,000-$20,000 for each individual project. Larger projects may be considered on an exceptional basis.
- The average duration of a CFLI project is six (6) consecutive months, with all project activities to be completed by February 28, 2018.
Eligibility Criteria
The CFLI proposals must address identified needs of local communities in the countries (mentioned below).
