Humanitarian Solidarity Grant Program is now open to ensure rapid response and response to the humanitarian needs of vulnerable civilian groups in the context of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
The Humanitarian Solidarity Grant Program is implemented by the International Renaissance Foundation in partnership and with the financial support of CARE Deutschland eV.
The purpose of the program to ensure rapid response and meet the humanitarian needs of vulnerable groups of civilians in the Russian war against Ukraine.
Priorities
Program priorities:
- support for local humanitarian initiatives in communities close to the area of active hostilities and in communities that have received large numbers of IDPs;
- providing humanitarian assistance and emergency support and addressing the humanitarian needs of vulnerable groups among the civilian population;
- providing or creating conditions to improve access to necessary medical care, social and other necessary services;
- protecting human dignity, promoting self-sufficiency and solidarity in overcoming challenges for the civilian population affected by the war.
Program participants
- Grants: NGOs, unions, associations, societies and other public associations that are registered as non-profit or charitable organizations and operate in Ukraine are invited to submit grant project proposals.
- Direct procurement: applications for direct procurement can be submitted by state and municipal institutions of health care, social protection, education, as well as unregistered volunteer initiatives.
Funding information
- The total budget is UAH 57,980,000.
- The minimum grant / request is UAH 100,000.
- The maximum amount of the grant / request is UAH 380,000.
- The optimal size of the grant / request is UAH 280,000 – 330,000.
- The maximum project implementation period is 4 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- substantial compliance of the project proposal / request for direct procurement with the purpose and priorities of the program;
- the project’s focus on a specific vulnerable group of civilians, a confirmed understanding of the specifics of the situation of this group and its needs, access to a specific target group;
- compliance of the proposed type of humanitarian assistance or support with the needs of a specific vulnerable group of civilians;
- institutional capacity of the participant for prompt and high-quality provision of humanitarian aid or support (availability of logistics channels, team capacity, previous experience, etc.);
- in the case where the recipient of humanitarian aid is a health care or social protection institution – the presence of a memorandum of cooperation and a formal request;
- reasonable and realistic budget of the project / request for direct purchase.
- Proposals submitted by for-profit organizations, political parties or religious communities will not be accepted.
