Support to Farmers' Organizations in Madagascar

Deadline: 3 May 2017

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is seeking proposals to implement a project on “Use of genetic diversity and Evolutionary Plant Breeding for enhanced farmer resilience to climate change, sustainable crop productivity, and nutrition under rainfed conditions” with an aim to enhance the resilience of target low-input poor farmers in the project area through developing EP populations with higher and stable yields under the local farm agronomic and stress conditions, including drought, salinity, pest and diseases.

The overall goal of the project is to sustainably increase crop productivity and enhance the resilience to climate change, biotic and abiotic shocks of farming communities under low-input, rainfed and less favoured production conditions and organic production systems.
