The INAE Young Innovator & Entrepreneur Award 2022 is now open for young engineers and women entrepreneurs of India.
The INAE Young Innovator & Entrepreneur Award is instituted to encourage and recognize innovation and entrepreneurship among Young Engineers. The engineering innovations/inventions/concepts that have been actually realized and implemented in industry either in new processes or products would be given preference.
Indian National Academy of Engineering INAE’s activities include programmes on issues of technology policy and overall development for the benefit of society, and the Academy promotes research projects, pilot studies, engineering education, fellowships, scholarships, awards and other benefactions. Seminars/Workshops/ Round Tables are conducted on topics of current national importance. The actionable recommendations emanating from the deliberations are submitted to the concerned Department/ Government agencies to assist in formulation of national policies.
Purpose
Donations or bequests can be applied to any purpose that is consistent with the Academy’s aims and objects. The Academy welcomes benefactions which encourage and promote the pursuit of excellence in the field of ‘Engineering’, inventions, investigations, research oriented applications, Professorships and awards etc.
Aims
Aims and Objects of the Academy are:
- To encourage and promote the pursuit of excellence in the field of ‘Engineering’.
- To offer the Govt. of India, the local Governments and others, the views of engineers in co-operation with other professional bodies in regard to all matters pertaining to ‘Engineering’.
- To promote the National Policy on Education of the Govt. of India.
- To present at all academic forums, the research and development activities on engineering on mutual interactive and cooperative basis both in India and abroad.
- To encourage inventions, investigations and research and promote their applications for development of both organized and unorganized sectors of national economy.
- To institute and establish Professorships, Fellowships, Studentships, Scholarships, Awards and other benefactions.
- To interact with Professional Bodies, Engineering and Scientific Academies etc. in India and abroad.
Funding Information
- The award would carry a citation and a cash prize of Rs 2 lakhs to the selected individual candidate or to be shared by the group of individuals not exceeding three persons.
- Up to four awards would be given every year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Any citizen of India not older than 45 years as on the 1st of January of the year of Award.
- Both innovation and entrepreneurship together would be considered important and young innovators from Academia/Research organization or Industry whose novel engineering/technology ideas have been translated into successful startup enterprises would be given preference.
- The nominations would be sought from INAE Fellows/CEOs/Directors/Head(s) of Industry, R&D organizations, Engineering institutions and Departments where nominee is currently working.
- Self-nomination is not permitted.
- Nominations in respect of Women Innovators & Entrepreneurs shall be encouraged.
