Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund, the regional implementation team (RIT) for the Wallacea Biodiversity Hotspot, Burung Indonesia, is releasing the call for letter of inquiry for the Wallacea II Partnership Program. It invites civil society organizations that have the competence to submit proposals grants on the topic “Sustainable Small-Scale Fisheries”, which includes one or a combination of the following parts:
- Support the implementation of a fishery product traceability system in the scheme small-scale fisheries that refer to standard traceability mechanisms national and international.
- Strengthen community-based conservation actions against endemic species and priorities, which include reducing threats (hunting, trafficking, consumption, etc.) and their management at the community level for conservation purposes.
- Strengthening coastal community resources in the utilization of fishery products sustainably for additional income and livelihood alternative.
Strengthening the governance and effectiveness of the use of marine protected areas community-based that contributes to the welfare of coastal communities.
The Wallacea Partnership Program is supported by the Partnership Fund Critical Ecosystems (CEPF) which is a joint initiative of l’Agence Franaise de Development, Conservation International, European Union, Global Environment Facility, Government of Japan and the World Bank, and has entered the second period (Program Wallacea II Partnership, period 2020-2024).
Funding Information
- This call is specifically for small grants, meaning less than US$50,000.
- Projects that can be funded have a maximum term of 18 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- The proposer is an Indonesian civil society organization working in one of the Priority Marine Corridors in the Wallacea region.
- The proposing agency has legality and a financial management system accountable.
