The Institute for Foreign Relations (IFA) is seeking applications for its CrossCulture Programme (CCP) on “Refugees and Migration”. CCP Refugees and Migration is a funding programme for employees and volunteers of non-governmental organisations, government agencies and other organisations in the field of refugee work and migration.
Working Areas
- Civil conflict resolution and prevention (dialogue, democratisation, education, human rights)
- Humanitarian assistance (logistics refugee camps, emergency aid)
- Strengthening civil society actors (empowerment, participation, integration in local societies)
- (Re-)Integration of refugees
- Information transfer (about situation in the home or transit country and country of asylum)
Benefits
- Cooperate with a host organisation abroad to share knowledge, information and best practices and get access to new professional networks.
- Receive a monthly grant of 800 EUR to cover living costs abroad plus expenses for travel, accommodation and health insurance.
- Take part in a one-week professional training and networking event in Berlin with other scholarship holders.
- After successful participation, become alumni of the ifa network.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants have a long-term experience and involvement with an organisation in the field of refugees and migration, either as an employee, freelancer or volunteer. Applicants have a broad network and high potential to become active as multiplier.
- For participants from African countries a good command of English is strongly recommended but not compulsory. For participants from Germany a good command of English is compulsory. Knowledge of the host country’s language (German or French) is very valuable, but not a requirement for participation.
- Selected participants should be in good health and have the physical as well as mental working capacity for the requirements of a longer stay abroad.
- Currently enrolled university students cannot be considered for selection.
