To celebrate and promote the contribution of Tasmanian women to their communities, the Tasmanian Government is funding a competitive grants program to support 2022 International Women’s Day events run by local organisations across the State.
International Women’s Day is marked on 8 March every year. It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women.
Funding Information
Eligible organisations are encouraged to apply for grants of up to $2 000 to hold events that:
- support women’s equality, including women’s economic security, health and wellbeing, or safety, and/or
- celebrate and promote the contribution of Tasmanian women to their communities.
Eligibility Criteria
The International Women’s Day Grants Program 2022 is open to application from:
- Tasmanian Local government Councils; or
- Not-for-profit community organisations; or
- Incorporated Associations; or
- Schools, colleges or tertiary institutions or associations.
Please note: State and Australian Government agencies (with the exception of government schools, political parties, for-profit organisations and individuals/sole traders are not eligible to receive funding.
Funding conditions and restrictions
The following conditions and restrictions apply:
- Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria noted.
- Incomplete applications will not be assessed.
- The applicant does not owe any reports or money to Communities Tasmania as a result of previous funding or grants.
- Applicants must have appropriate levels of Public Liability Insurance.
- All funding is subject to terms and conditions, which will be outlined in a Grant Agreement with successful applicants.
- Events should take place on or around International Women’s Day (March 8). The Department of Communities Tasmania may, at its sole discretion, consider exceptions to this timeframe.
