The Janesville Education Foundation’s (JEF) Excellence in Education (EIE) Grant to strengthen the school communities with the use of private charitable resources.
The JEF is a charitable organization whose primary mission is to raise funds, make grants and support educational opportunities for the children who attend Janesville public schools.
JEF is supported by gifts from individuals and businesses. JEF makes grants to Janesville public schools primarily for proposals that show promise of enriching the classroom curriculum through innovation.
What is an EIE Fund?
EIE funds are awarded for the benefit of school district students and staff. They encourage creative and innovative educational programs, recognize and reward outstanding achievement, and encourage local business, civic and community involvement and investment in schools. EIE funds are community-supported funds that operate independently of school board oversight. All EIE funds are components of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin.
Eligibility Criteria
Check the following:
- Applications are considered for projects or programs that provide a direct benefit to the people of a respective community as defined by the school district boundary.
- The applicant should be a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
- If your organization is not a 501(c)3 but you believe your program has a charitable purpose.
- Individuals are not eligible for community fund grants.
