Deadline: 07-Jul-21
Applications are open now for the Justice40 Accelerator Program that will facilitate the delivery of 40 percent of overall benefits of “relevant federal investments to disadvantaged communities.”
The Justice40 Accelerator’s offerings will include:
- Informational briefings and resources to learn about federal grants and eligibility
- Grants in philanthropic capacity building grants for dozens of eligible organizations
- Project pre-development workshops
- Partnership opportunities that include strategically connecting to an equity ecosystem of partners through relationship acceleration (village and base building)
- Support in navigating the local procurement landscape.
- Technical expertise to support successful applications for federal funding including accounting, legal, and government grant writing
Communities who are at the frontlines of climate, environmental, and social injustices have the wisdom and the solutions to create systemic transformational change.
Due to historic structural racism and bureaucratic inadequacies, these same communities lack access to the capacity and resources to implement their solutions.
The Justice40 Accelerator will share information, resources, and capacity with frontline community organizations.
These communities will be able to formulate projects and successfully apply to the Federal funding opportunities presented by the Biden-Harris Administration Justice40 Initiative.
Anchored in love, service, and a sincere commitment to frontline communities— the Justice40 Accelerator seeks to leverage this moment to radically reimagine the existing government resource delivery system as a restorative and reparative framework that better supports Black and historically disinvested communities of color.
Eligibility Criteria
The Justice40 Accelerator will support black, indigenous, people of color, and women-led non-profits, non-governmental organizations, and fiscally sponsored initiatives working at the frontlines of climate and environmental crises.
They are looking for applications that are-
- grounded in, benefiting, and accountable to communities that are at the frontlines of environmental and climate crises, and
- can, with Accelerator support, immediately or eventually qualify for Justice40 federal funding.
Organizations will benefit in the following ways directly from Justice40 Accelerator’s efforts:
- Measurable Federal grants won and projects funded and built by community-led organizations supported through this initiative
- Stronger ecosystem of businesses owned by leaders from Black and historically disinvested communities of color, enabling these businesses to more effectively compete for opportunities
- Stronger network of business leaders from Black and historically disinvested communities of color who are connected to each other and have access to decision makers and resources, connected to Access and Influence
- Actionable awareness among decision makers of structural biases inherent in resourcing systems towards reparation and restoration.
