Applications for Kingston Cultural Diversity Partnership Grants Program are now open to assist the community to develop innovative projects to support CALD communities during the COVID-19 recovery phase.
This year Kingston Council is providing funding to support community organisations to develop new solutions to support Kingston CALD communities during the COVID-19 recovery phase.
Priority Areas
All projects must address at least one of the following priority areas:
- Improve mental health in CALD communities
- Prevent social disharmony, racial and religious intolerance
- Celebrate COVID-safe multicultural events engaging the wider community and different ethnic and faith communities.
Funding Information
Community and faith organisations can apply for up to $2,500 to deliver community-led grassroots projects to support CALD communities in 2022. Council encourages and supports partnerships between community organisations, faith-based organisations, and community groups to participate in this program.
Grant Conditions
- The Grant Program is open to community organisations and faith-based organisations that work in partnership with one or more community groups (e.g., one community organisation and 2 or 3 community groups).
- The lead organisation must be an incorporated body with appropriate public liability insurance, an ABN, and a bank account.
- A total funding pool of $10,000 is available. Applicants can apply for up to $2,500.
- Community organisations and groups which form the partnership must be based in Kingston and be able to demonstrate local networks.
- Priority will be given to innovative projects that engage the wider community and different ethnic and faith communities.
- Projects and activities must be open to the broader community.
- Successful projects will be launched and promoted through Kingston Council’s website during Cultural Diversity Week in March 2022.
- Grants will not be issued to fund regular activities (e.g., meetings, regular group events, etc).
- Application for a grant does not guarantee success. Funds will be issued at the discretion of Council.
- The successful projects will be announced in January 2022, with funding issued to organisations in February 2022.
