The Kitsap Community Foundation and United Way of Kitsap County has launched a new focus area of the Unity in the Community Kitsap COVID-19 Response Fund called the Kitsap Racial Equity and Empowerment Fund (KREEF).
KREEF is meant to move the community towards equity, understanding, and unity by awarding grant funding to groups and organizations working to lessen the inequities caused or exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis for communities of color, with an emphasis on the needs of the Black community.
Funding Priorities
These grants are meant to help end systemic racism in the community by supporting culturally relevant programs, services, and activities in Kitsap County that:
- Are aimed at lessening the inequities caused or exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis in or for communities of color, with an emphasis on the needs of the Black community, and
- Have leadership or boards that are reflective of, and accountable to communities of color, in particular the Black community.
Funding Information
- These grants, up to $10,000, are for “general operating support”.
- KREEF will award up to $100,000 in grants during this application period.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Foundation can only accept applications from 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations and fiscally sponsored projects.
