The Department of the Interior National Park Service is currently inviting applications for its Land and Water Conservation Fund State and Local Assistance Program with an aim to provide grants to States, their political subdivisions, and Indian tribes to acquire and/or develop public land for outdoor recreation purposes.

The fund provides grants to States, their political subdivisions, and Indian tribes to acquire and/or develop public land for outdoor recreation purposes. It was established to assist in preserving, developing and assuring accessibility to present and future generations of U.S. citizens and visitors “such quality and quantity of outdoor recreation resources as may be available and are necessary and desirable for individual active participation in such recreation and to strengthen the health and vitality of the citizens of the U.S.
