Last Chance to Apply for NZ-France Friendship Fund!

Deadline: 30 April 2019

Applications are open for the NZ-France Friendship Fund to create and develop strong and lasting relations between France and New Zealand, by offering financial assistance to projects leading to the establishment of lasting links, mutual understanding and friendship between the citizens of both countries, especially the youngest among them.

This is your last chance to apply for funding from the New Zealand France Friendship Fund. After the 2019 deadline and final decisions on projects, the Fund will be closed.

Priority is given to projects targeting a large, high-profile audience and relying on real personal contacts between the two countries. Projects may cover all areas of cultural, artistic, sporting, educational and historical life (but not limited to these areas).

The main criterion is the constructive nature of the exchange that the project aims to establish. The themes concerning the shared history between our two countries, France in the Pacific, climate change, educational exchanges will be studied with particular attention.

Projects must use alternative financing, since the Fund never intends to finance the entire project;
A project submitted to the French Committee can not be presented to the New Zealand Committee (and vice versa).

About The Friendship Fund

The Friendship Fund was established in 1991 following an agreement between the French and New Zealand governments to promote friendship between the citizens of the two countries and has two committees in New Zealand and France. meet annually to provide grants for projects that meet the objectives of the Fund.

Since its creation, it has financed more than € 3 million worth of projects in France, New Zealand and French Pacific communities. In order to support a larger number of projects, the decision to start the Fund’s capital was taken in 2006.

Thus, due to the planned depletion of capital and considering that its initial goal was achieved, France and New Zealand have agreed to close the Friendship Fund in 2019.
