Deadline: 15-Sep-20
Applicants are invited to submit applications for the Maine Community Foundation’s Investing in Leaders of Color (ILOC) Program 2020. The goal of this program is to support nonprofit leaders of color and their organizations. The program provides management training and other forms of professional development.
This program is designed for nine people of color in leadership positions in nonprofit organizations that serve communities of color and promote racial equity in the state of Maine. Grants will be made to the organizations.
Elements
The program has three core elements:
- One-on-one coaching: MaineCF has recruited consultants to serve as coaches with different areas of expertise. Leaders will interview two to three coaches and select one coach to work with for the duration of the program. Leaders will work with their coach to identify and prioritize professional development needs, develop an action plan, and work to achieve goals. Up to 15 hours of coaching are available. Due to COVID-19, all coaching will be done remotely until it is safe for individuals to meet in person.
- Professional development stipend: Leaders will receive support to attend a conference, receive professional training, or obtain some other professional development skill-building tool.
- Operating costs: Leaders will receive support to buy needed technology, books, memberships, software, or other items needed for their efforts.
- Networking: MaineCF will host a gathering for program participants and coaches to share what they learned with each other.
