The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement from qualified entities to implement the “Strengthening Teacher Education and Practice” (STEP) Activity in Malawi.

The purpose of Strengthening Teacher Education and Practice (STEP) Activity in Malawi is to improve the capacity of Teacher Training Colleges and the Ministry of Education to strengthen primary teacher preparation programs and operationalize a continuing professional development framework for both new and continuing teachers for more effective management of human resources at the primary education level.
Goal: The goal of STEP is to improve the capacities of TTCs and the MoE to more effectively manage and strengthen primary teacher preparation programs and to operationalize a continuing professional development (CPD) framework for both new and continuing primary teachers
Objectives
The activity will:
The recipient must demonstrate progress toward these objectives by monitoring and reporting on a comprehensive set of indicators and targets agreed between USAID and the recipient as part of a comprehensive activity monitoring, evaluation, and learning plan.
Funding Information
USAID intends to award 1(one) Cooperative Agreement pursuant to this notice of funding opportunity. Subject to funding availability and at the discretion of the Agency, USAID intends to provide up to $15,600,000 in total USAID funding over a 5(five) year period.
