Sweden and UNDP have launched a Grant Program for Women with Economic Activity in Households to assist women (technical assistance in capacity development, mentoring and leadership) in order to strengthen their capacity to reduce the worsening of climate change and develop income-generating activities that are climate resilient through the provision of grants.

The “Sustainable and resilient communities through women empowerment” project contributes to the sustainable development and increased resilience to climate change of local communities in Nisporeni, Calarasi, Basarabeasca, Leova districts, Gagauzia region, the security zone and Transnistrian region through economic, social, and educational empowerment of women.

In order to achieve the expected results, the project “Communities resistant to climate change by empowering women” will provide financial assistance to women who run a household in Nisporeni, Calarasi, Basarabeasca, Leova, ATU Gagauzia, security zone and Transnistrian region, in order to practically income-generating, environmentally friendly and climate-resilient activities. Thus, the support from the Project will benefit 60 women with economic activity within the households.
