Deadline: 4-Feb-22
The French Embassy in Myanmar is launching a call for proposals led by civil society organizations as part of The fund to support innovative projects of civil society and coalition of actors known as PISCCA.
The “Innovative Projects from Civil Society and Coalitions of Actors” Fund (PISCCA) is the French Embassy’s main mechanism in Myanmar to finance local actors led projects that aimed at fighting poverty and strengthening access to fundamental rights for vulnerable populations.
Objectives
The underlying principle of PISCCA is to encourage innovative projects carried out by motivated small and medium-size CSOs with evidence for potential growth, striving to implement new and innovative ideas, wanting to make a difference in their community. Therefore, PISCCA aims at funding smallscale projects and local initiatives which contribute to the following objectives:
- bring concrete and positive changes in the life of the beneficiaries and communities;
- strengthen the capacities of both beneficiaries and Myanmar’s civil society;
- promote social, economic, political, cultural rights and sustainable development;
- strengthen networking and synergies between stakeholders in the field.
Areas/Sectors
The present call is open for innovative and multi-actor based proposals in the following areas/sectors:
- Promoting a community-based, sustainable and inclusive development: fight against inequalities, discrimination and exclusion. Preference will be given to initiatives piloting intercommunities dialogue, social cohesion, peace efforts, reduction of extreme poverty, access to basic services (health, including reproductive and sexual health, education, water and sanitation, waste management, renewable energy,…).
- Fight against discrimination, violence and human rights abuses. A particular focus will be given to projects addressing gender equality, gender-based violence, and all forms of discrimination against minority groups and/or usually marginalized (people with disabilities, persons living with HIV/AIDS, LGBTQI+ community, sex-workers) or human rights violations. Women led projects are in this respect highly encouraged.
- Promoting a participatory society. Specific attention will be given here to stakeholders in cultural, innovative and communication fields, proposing initiatives to improve access to culture, freedom of expression and promoting creativity. Youth led projects are readily encouraged.
