The Government of Western Australia has announced its Community Small Grants Fund under the Native Forestry Transition Plan for sustainable projects that aim to create jobs, expand and diversify the local economy, and create liveable communities through services, infrastructure, tourism and events.

Objectives of the Community Small Grants Fund

The CSGF will be delivered through two competitive grant rounds each comprising $2 million. Any funding not allocated in Round 1 will be carried over and allocated to Round 2.

The $4 million Community Small Grants Fund (CSGF) comprises contestable grants of up to $100,000 for projects that aim to stimulate regional economies and create liveable communities in the Native Forestry Timber Regions.

Eligibility Criteria

The CSGF is open to organisations, businesses and community groups with well-planned and developed projects aimed at stimulating the local economy and supporting the community needs of the Native Forestry Timber Regions.

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria to be eligible:

Events (and some other exceptional projects) will require additional insurance, such as higher limits of public liability insurance ($20 million per claim), motor vehicle insurance, compulsory third party insurance, cyber insurance for ticketed events or personal accident insurance where persons are engaged by the contractor on a voluntary basis.
