The Australian Government is inviting providers via an open process to apply to deliver services under the Community Inclusion and Capacity Development (CICD) – Implementing Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) – ILC National Readiness Grants in 2016-17.
Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) is all about inclusion of people with disability. It is about creating connections between people with disability and their communities. One way the NDIA wants to help create those connections is through providing grants to organisations.
Objectives
The objective of the ILC National Readiness Grants is to support projects aligned to the ILC Policy and the ILC Commissioning Framework that will:
- build the capacity and readiness of organisations and the community to operate within a nationally consistent approach to ILC; and/or
- build the foundations required to deliver ILC activities on a national scale.
Activity Areas
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will accept applications for ILC National Readiness grants in the following two Activity Areas described in the ILC Policy:
- Capacity building for mainstream services; and
- Community awareness and capacity building.
Eligibility Criteria
The NDIA may invite the following entity types to apply for a grant through the CICD Program:
- Incorporated Associations (incorporated under state/territory legislation, commonly have ‘Association’ or ‘Incorporated’ or ‘Inc.’ in their legal name)
- Incorporated Cooperatives (also incorporated under state/territory legislation, commonly have ‘Cooperative’ in their legal name)
- Companies (incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001 – may be a proprietary company (limited by shares) or public companies (limited by shares or by guarantee)
- Aboriginal Corporations (incorporated under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006)
- Organisations established through a specific Commonwealth or state/territory legislation (e.g. public benevolent institutions, churches, universities etc.).
- Partnerships and consortia (one organisation will have to nominate as the lead entity)
- Trustees on behalf of a Trust
- State and Territory Governments and their agencies
- Local Governments
