The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is seeking applications for its program entitled “USArtists International” to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with a RAO to administer the 2020-2021 cycle of the USAI program.
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has a long history of supporting the participation of artists from the U.S. at international festivals abroad. Since 2004, this commitment has been carried out through USArtists International (USAI), a NEA program undertaken in partnership with a U.S. Regional Arts Organization (RAO).
USAI supports performances by U.S. artists at important cultural festivals and arts marketplaces outside of the U.S. and its jurisdictions. The program aims to extend the reach and impact of performing artists and their accomplishments globally. USAI subgrants may support costs such as artist fees, travel, housing, per diem, shipping, and visa preparation.
Funding Information
- The NEA expects to award one Cooperative Agreement of up to $435,000, contingent upon the availability of funds.
- Project activities may begin on or after June 1, 2019, and may extend for up to 24 months.

- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- U.S. Regional Arts Organizations
