Public Trust is accepting applications for the Frozen Funds Charitable Trust Grant Program.
The purpose of the Frozen Funds Charitable Trust is to provide grants for projects run by, and for, people who use mental health or intellectual disability services.
Objectives
- This year they are looking to fund projects or programmes that clearly align with one of the following objectives:
- Support for the development of organisations run by service users for the benefit of other service users.
- Support for service user run and focused research into mental health and intellectual disability issues.
- Support for workforce development of service users who work for the benefit of other service users.
- Support for arts and cultural initiatives by service users.
- Payments for the advancement in life of qualifying individuals.
- Support of advocacy, development and education initiatives run by mental health and intellectual disability service users.
- Support for or undertaking any other activities which are incidental to or conducive to the achievement of the above objects and purposes.
The proposals must be
- For the ultimate benefit of people who use, or have used, mental health or intellectual disability services.
- Applied for by charitable organisations – individuals or groups without charitable status may apply but must have a fundholder or fiscal sponsor organisation with charitable status to administer the funds on their behalf.
- Run, or administered by charitable organisations on behalf of individuals or groups without charitable status.
Funding Information
- Grants will be for a maximum of $10,000.
Eligible Projects
- Proposed projects must be:
- applied for by charitable organisations or by charitable organisations on behalf of individuals or groups without charitable status
- directed by people who use, or have used, mental health or intellectual disability services
- completed within a finite period.
- Preference will be given to project proposals that would not be normally funded through government.
Eligibility Criteria
- Charitable organisations, or individuals or groups without charitable status. However, individuals or groups without charitable status must apply through a charitable organisation that has agreed to run and administer the funds on their behalf.
- Applications must;
- Be for people who use, or have used, mental health or intellectual disability services. (Projects need to be run by and / or for people with intellectual disabilities and mental health illness.)
- Show evidence of how service users are going to be involved in the project/programme.
- Directly linked to and able to demonstrate how they address the chosen objective.
- The Trust will accept more than one application per organisation, individual or group, however only one will be funded if successful.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Application will not be considered in the following circumstances:
- Applications from organisations that are not registered with Charities Services.
- Applications from individuals who do not apply through a registered charitable organisation.
- Applications from groups who do not apply through a registered charitable organisation.
- Applications for retrospective funding.
- Applications from organisations who received a grant in a prior year but have not met their accountability requirements.
- Applications from sports organisations and service clubs.
