Nexus Community Partners: Open Road Fund in the US

Call for Concepts: Climate Justice for Queer, Trans, and Intersex Communities in the US

Deadline: 28-Jul-23

The Nexus Community Partners has announced the $50 million Open Road Fund, a wealth-building community resource for descendants of the Atlantic Slave Trade living in Minnesota and the Dakotas.

The Open Road Fund was created to serve Black descendants of the Atlantic Slave Trade, especially formerly incarcerated folks, single parents, senior citizens, those living with disabilities, LGBTQ+, and more.

They believe that paths lead to the destiny, and when faced with barriers, they call upon the ancestors to guide them on the open road to liberation. In honor of their resiliency and communal spirit, the Open Road Fund aims to redistribute resources to present-day descendants of the Atlantic Slave Trade in an effort to build Black wealth within the communities.

The Open Road Fund is stewarded by Nexus Community Partners and resourced by the Bush Foundation.
