NIH Director’s New Innovator Awards Program: Supporting Early stage Investigators

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), an agency of Department of Health and Human Services is seeking applications for its NIH Director’s New Innovator Awards that is an initiative to support a small number of early stage investigators of exceptional creativity who propose bold and highly innovative new research approaches that have the potential to produce a major impact on broad, important problems in biomedical and behavioral research.

The award is designed specifically to support unusually creative investigators with highly innovative research ideas at an early stage of their career when they may lack the preliminary data required.

Funding Information: NIH intends to commit approximately $80 million for approximately 33 awards in fiscal year 2017.
