The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is seeking applications for its “Vision 21: Law Enforcement and the Communities They Serve: Supporting Collective Healing in the Wake of Harm” to support an initial one-year planning phase to develop comprehensive evaluation options to assess the pilot sites of the Collective Healing initiative.
Objectives
The goal is to inform potential evaluation options through a one-year planning process in consultation with NIJ and OVC; research objectives include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in an in-person kickoff meeting in Washington, DC, to meet with NIJ and OVC, and discuss project plans and potential modifications to the work plan. Collaborate bi-weekly or monthly with NIJ and OVC on calls and site visits.
- Participate in an “All-Sites” kick off meeting, which includes NIJ, OVC, the grantee, and all selected sites.
- Assess sites’ capacity for information collection, data management, and analysis.
- Conduct evaluabilty assessments to inform future research plans that may include process, outcome and/or impact evaluations, as well as cost-efficiency studies.
- Develop logic models for each pilot site.
- Develop multiple evaluation plans and estimated costs for each plan to present to OVC and NIJ at the end of the one-year planning phase.
- Document and assess training and technical assistance (TTA) delivered to the sites; create logic model for TTA activities.
- Conduct two site visits at each site (up to six sites are expected to be selected).

NIJ expects to make up to one award of up to $500,000, with an estimated total amount awarded of up to $500,000
