The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) announces an open solicitation for organizations interested in submitting applications for regional projects that address transnational repression in the Mekong region, including Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.

DRL seeks proposals to pilot a regional program to protect the human rights of persons in diaspora and exile communities in the Mekong from transnational repression. Proposals can include select Mekong countries during the pilot period but should include clear plans on how the proposal would ultimately cover the entire Mekong region in post-pilot periods. Proposals should be designed to achieve the following objectives, pending the availability of additional funds to expand the program based on progress during the pilot period:
