NOFO: Countering Wildlife Trafficking in Central and South America

The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a project to counter wildlife trafficking (which may include illegal logging) in specified countries in Central and South America.

Project Vision: Reverse escalating poaching trends and trafficking of wildlife in order to disrupt transnational criminal activity that threatens stability and sovereign control over territory.

Project Goal: Reduce poaching and trafficking of protected wildlife and their parts originating from, transiting through, and/or sold in Latin America. INL seeks to strengthen the capacity of civil society and governments in targeted countries to detect, investigate, prosecute, and adjudicate wildlife trafficking cases, with a focus on promoting inter-agency, cross-border, and transcontinental collaboration, and strengthening capacity to prosecute facilitative and ancillary crimes.
