The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is seeking applications for Grants for Research and Evaluation on Trafficking in Persons NIJ to promote civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety, and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community.
Objectives

This solicitation has the following objectives:
- Develop knowledge on human trafficking prevention.
- Evaluate strategies to intervene and respond to human trafficking once it has occurred.
- Fill gaps in knowledge on several understudied areas of human trafficking.
Priorities
- research and evaluation on trafficking prevention;
- evaluation of strategies to intervene and respond to trafficking, once it has occurred; and
- other understudied areas of research on human trafficking.
Goals
- The goal of this solicitation is to better understand, prevent, and respond to trafficking in persons in the United States and to provide federal, state, local, and tribal stakeholders with knowledge and tools to address trafficking in persons.

- For purposes of this solicitation, “state” means any state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
