NOFO: National Center for Disability, Equity, and Intersectionality (US)

Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects Program: Disability and Pregnancy (US)

Deadline: 27-Jun-22

The Administration for Community Living (ACL), Administration on Disabilities (AOD), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announces the availability of Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 grant to create and maintain a national resource center on disability, equity, and intersectionality to build the capacity of the communities across the nation to be more inclusive and culturally competent towards individuals with disabilities.

The center will increase knowledge and awareness of systemic ableism, racism, and other forms of discrimination experienced by individuals with disabilities, including those with marginalized identities. The center’s primary focus will be addressing systemic ableism, racism, and other forms of discrimination with a concentrated effort around health equity and other topics identified by the grantee.

The center will focus on resources to increase equitable access for people with marginalized identities by: supporting forums for cross-cultural and cross-disability exchanges that will advance a culturally competent disability framework; translating research into action and disseminating information using multiple methods; developing tools, such as an organizational self-assessment tool, and supporting communities of practices for transforming systems and organizations; and building the next generation and future leaders of this work through engagement with youth with disabilities.
