The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH), Office of Population Affairs has announced the Research to Practice Center Grants for Adolescent Health Promotion in Order to Prevent Teenage Pregnancy.
The primary focus of OASH is leading America to healthier lives, especially for those who are most vulnerable, including those who have suffered historic disparities. In support of this vision, OPA promotes health across the reproductive lifespan through innovative, evidence-based adolescent health and family planning programs, services, strategic partnerships, evaluation, and research.
Research investigating teen pregnancy prevention approaches is designed to give youth the information and skills to promote adolescent sexual and reproductive health and prevent teen pregnancy across the United States, especially among vulnerable populations, including those who have suffered historic disparities.
Priority Areas
- Engaging parents and caregivers,
- Expanding meaningful youth engagement and a focus on youth protective factors (e.g., strong support from caregivers, healthy peer relationships, and engagement and connections to school, community, peers, athletics, etc.),
- Systems-level approaches in adolescent health and teen pregnancy prevention (e.g., environments supportive of healthy behaviors, fostering positive connections to schools, neighborhoods, and communities, etc.),
- Trauma-informed and inclusive care and programming,
- Working with youth-serving professionals in the systems that serve the most vulnerable youth.

Eligibility Criteria
- Any public or private entity located in any one of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, Republic of Palau, Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands are eligible to apply for a grant under this announcement. Faithbased organizations and American Indian/Alaskan Native/Native American (AI/AN/NA) organizations are eligible to apply. Community-based organizations are eligible to apply.
