The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) has announced an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for a program to strengthen the relationship between disability rights advocates and organizations in Georgia and local level government structures to support the successful and inclusive implementation of the newly passed “Law of Georgia on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”.

Goal: DRL’s goal for this project is to empower Georgian Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs) to effectively advocate for equal treatment under the law and support efforts to discourage discriminatory practices.  Proposal submissions must demonstrate inclusion and integration of local Georgian DPOs and persons with disabilities in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the program. The program should strive to increase agency and leadership for women with disabilities and showcase the value of their participation in advocacy efforts of DPOs and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the country.
