The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is seeking applications for its UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International prize for research in the life sciences. The purpose of the prize is to reward projects and activities of an individual, individuals, institutions, other entities or non-governmental organizations for scientific research in the life sciences, which have led to improving the quality of human life.

The objective of the Prize are in conformity with UNESCO’s policies and are related to the central function of UNESCO’s Major Programme II is to encourage research and the setting up and further development of networks of centres of excellence in the life sciences contributing to improving the quality of human life.

Prize Information

The award winners receive a monetary award of US $300,000 (Three hundred thousand United States dollars), a diploma and a medal.
