The Northern Territory (NT) Government is seeking applications for its International Women’s Day.
International Women’s Day is celebrated around the world on 8 March each year. It was established in response to the growing demand for equality for women and recognition of women’s achievements. In recent years, International Women’s Day has represented an opportunity to appreciate the journey that women have taken to achieve greater rights and has also served to raise awareness that further work is needed to achieve gender equality.
At its core, International Women’s Day is also an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of individual women and their continuing contribution to their local communities. Applications from rural and remote areas are encouraged.
Funding Information
- The Office of Gender Equity and Diversity International Women’s Day Grants Program provides funding to celebrate International Women’s Day (8 March). The total grant funding for International Women’s Day is $ 40,000 each year. Grants of up to $ 3000 are available for individuals and organizations.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for an International Women’s Day grant, applicants must:
- Be a resident of the Northern Territory; gold
- If an organization, be based and registered in the Northern Territory; and
- Demonstrate that the planned event / activity meets at least two of the required selection criteria for the International Women’s Day grants.
Selection Criteria
- Applications from rural and remote areas are encouraged.
- Grants of up to $ 3000 are available for individuals and organizations for events / activities that address at least two of the below selection criteria:
- Celebrate International Women’s Day;
- Celebrate women’s diversity and social, political and economic achievements;
- Educate the community about International Women’s Day;
- Encourages reflection and discussion about issues regarding gender inequality; gold
- Encourages community participation in International Women’s Day.
