Nuffic has launched a call for grant proposals for the Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights to increasing quality SRHR services by improved skills training in SRHR at community level. The proposed project must contribute to universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SDG 3 and 5).
Elements
The proposed project should also focus on and include the following elements:
- The call specifically focuses on increasing skills in SRHR, therefore training to future health practitioners in SRHR will be particularly encouraged;
- In fragile and/or conflict-affected settings, the project needs to address Sexual and Gender Based Violence;
- The deployment of local expertise and south-to-south cooperation is strongly encouraged;
- The training will need to address specifically the needs of marginalised groups;
- To assure alignment with local priorities and needs, the project needs to inform relevant local government agencies on the planned training;
- Any newly developed curriculum should provide for the development of professional and practical skills;
- Applicants are requested to make a short analysis on how the training is connected to the broader institutional framework in the country;
- In view of the COVID pandemic, the project must take domestic violence in account.
Funding Information
- Maximum available funding for this call, excluding co-funding EUR 2,500,000;
- Minimum and maximum funding per Tailor-Made Training Plus, excluding co-funding EUR 75,000 – EUR 300,000.
Long and Medium term Impact
The proposed project must contribute to the following long-term impac (s):
- Greater freedom of choice for young people about their sexuality;
- Improved access to contraceptives and medicines;
- Better quality public and private health care for SRH, including safe abortions;
- More respect for the sexual and reproductive rights of groups who are currently denied these rights.
The following medium-term impact will contribute to this:
- Education system (TVET/HE) is of good quality, relevant and accessible (SDG 4) (NB. use if your proposal targets knowledge institutions);
- Partnerships between persons and organisations are inclusive and sustainable (SDG 17);
- Organisations key to (sectoral) inclusive development of partner countries are strengthened by inflow of enhanced workforce.
Eligibility Criteria
- Grant applicants: Eligibility for OKP Group Training grants extends to Dutch institutions providing secondary and higher vocational and academic education or other types of Dutch organisations that provide educational training courses and that also contribute to strengthening of the priority themes in the countries. These institutions must deliver the training themselves; intermediary organisations are not eligible. The institutions must have sufficient organisational and financial capacity to run a training course. This can be demonstrated using a COCA that is assessed as positive by Nuffic. The organisations must also have demonstrable experience in providing the desired training course.
- Group training target group: To be eligible for an OKP Group Training grant, an application must propose a training course for candidates who meet the following criteria: The candidates work for one of the following types of national and/or local organisations: ministries, secondary or higher vocational or academic education institutions, universities, private sector, commissions or NGOs. The candidates may not work for:
- a bilateral or multilateral organisation;
- a non-governmental organisation that is internationally active and is focused on representing social interests, such as development cooperation, nature and environmental protection, health or human rights.
