National Youth Council (NYC)’s National Youth Survey 2016 found that Singaporean youths are stressed by new adult responsibilities as they transition into adulthood. To help them cope better, National Youth Council (NYC) would like to invite Not for Profit Organizations, Schools and Institutes of Higher Learning, and Social Enterprises to submit project proposals which aim to achieve any of the following:
- Advance financial literacy among youths
- Equip youths with skills or tools to improve mental wellbeing
- Prepare youths for the workforce
The National Youth Fund champions and supports ground-up initiatives by Not for Profit Organizations, Schools and Institutes of Higher Learning, and Social Enterprises to co-create social change for the benefit of the community.
Funding Information
Successful applicants can receive funding from the National Youth Fund of up to 80% of total allowable project cost, capped at $50,000, to cover direct project costs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Not for Profit Organization e.g. Youth Sector Organization (YSO), Social Service Organization;
- Schools and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL); and
- Social Enterprise (SE) whose business primarily focuses on engaging and developing youths for the community.
- Projects must be targeted at youths (aged between 15 to 35 years old) and must involve Singaporeans/ Singapore Permanent Residents.
- Projects must address youth concerns at transitions and develop resilience. This includes:
- Advancing financial literacy among youths
- Equipping youths with skills or tools to improve mental wellbeing
- Preparing youths for the workforce
- Types of projects that can be funded include:
- Youth programmes
- Experimenting with an innovative financial literacy/mental wellbeing/ career-readiness programme
- Scaling up a successful financial literacy/mental wellbeing/career-readiness programme so it reaches more youths or new youth segments
- Capability development
- Evaluating an existing financial literacy/ mental wellbeing/ career-readiness programme to measure its impact and see how it can be improved
- Strengthening internal capabilities and capacities to roll out financial literacy/mental wellbeing/career-readiness programmes
- Youth programmes
