The United States Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, acting through the Office of Public Affairs, is seeking proposals from organisations for a program entitled “Anti-Corruption in-School Education Program” for development and implementation of a country wide in-school education program to combat corruption, in accordance with the outcomes for anti-corruption education developed by the Agency for pre-school, Elementary and Secondary Education(the Agency)as part of the official Common ore Curriculum out Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
This year-long program will help educate young BiH students about the basic concepts of democratic society, justice, human rights, tolerance, the BiH constitution, and the various levels of government in the country.
Components
- Interdisciplinary anti-corruption curriculum for grades K-5, with a sample curriculum, in the three official languages of the country, in accordance with the official BiH Common Core Curriculum.
- Interdisciplinary anti-corruption curriculum for grades 6-9 of elementary schools, with a sample curriculum in the three official languages of the country, in accordance with the official BiH Common Core Curriculum.
- Interdisciplinary anti-corruption for secondary schools, with a sample curriculum, student textbooks, and teacher guides in the three official languages of the country, in accordance with the official BiH Common Core Curriculum.
- Teacher training component to support interdisciplinary teacher training based on educational standards
Funding Information
- The budget for project proposals should not exceed$100,000.
- The timeframe for this program is from September, 2016throughOctober, 2017.
Eligibility Criteria
- All U.S. and BiH non-profit organizations, BiH and U.S. institutes of higher learning, are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate institutional capacity to operate an education program throughout BiH.
- Preference will be given to applicants with past performance in the development and implementation of education curricula, textbooks, and teacher professional development programs.
- S.-based applicants must demonstrate an ability to work in all parts of BiH, whether independently or in cooperation with an in-country partner.
- All proposals must be completed in English.
- Applicants should work in close cooperation with the Agency, and use results of many anti-corruption initiatives in the country, in cooperation with other NGOs active in this field, as well as Pedagogical Institutes in the country.
- Proposals should include a plan to develop and implement in at least 50 schools a country-wide education program to combat corruption.
