The Winnipeg Foundation is inviting applications for the One-Time Community Grants to support a wide range of projects in the community, including those relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Type of Projects Supported
- This grant program supports time-limited community projects, including:
- Capital and renovations
- Conferences and events
- Equipment and infrastructure
- Program operating
- Reports and planning
- Capital campaigns
- Short-term operating support
- Organizational development and capacity building
Preference
- Preference is given to projects which:
- Align with The Winnipeg Foundation’s strategic granting priorities
- Demonstrate innovative approaches and techniques to solve community issues, and build individual, neighbourhood and/or community capacity;
- Demonstrate accessibility and inclusiveness;
- Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity;
- Address the root causes of issues in the society;
- Demonstrate that consideration has been given to the project’s effect on the environment;
- Encourage more efficient use of community resources;
- Promote cooperation and sharing among organizations to minimize the potential for duplication of services;
- Promote volunteer participation;
- And strengthen an organization’s capacity to be sustainable
Eligibility Criteria
- Your organization must have a registered charitable number from Canada Revenue Agency or be a qualified donee to apply for a Community Grant. A charity registration number is required to access the online application form; if you are a qualified donee.
- You may apply for a Community Grant once per calendar year. An exception will be made to accept a second application from an organization where it is collaborating with another community non-profit(s).
- An organization may not apply for any type of Community Grant if it has an outstanding Community Grant. You must submit a satisfactory report from your previous Community Grant before submitting a new Community Grant application.
- Applying for a Community Grant does not preclude you from applying for a Special Program Grant in the same calendar year, but it must be for a different project.
