As part the annual partnership with Kunsthalle Praha, Czech Centre and the Arts and Theatre Institute, Delfina Foundation is offering a six-week residency to a visual artist in Winter 2023 (20 February – 30 March) and a three-week residency to a curator in Spring 2023 (24 April – 14 May).
Delfina Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to facilitating artistic exchange and developing creative practice through residencies, partnerships and public programming.
Delfina Foundation has always welcomed applicants from all backgrounds, including D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists and others who have specific needs. We are open to discussing how our residencies can be adapted to meet the needs of selected residents.
Alongside gaining time and space to develop their work, Delfina Foundation’s residents participate in a bespoke programme that includes:
- Guided visits to museums, galleries, non-profits, artistrun spaces and studios, as well as trips to institutions outside London.
- Opportunities to meet and engage with artists, curators, academics and researchers through organised presentations, studio visits, events and meals.
- Professional development activities including presentations and crits, portfolio reviews, and mentoring activities.
- Collaborative exchange between residents through informal gatherings, crits and meals.
Benefits
The Selected Applicant Will Receive:
- A three-week residency at Delfina Foundation, including:
- A return economy-class flight
- Airport transfers in the UK
- Reimbursement of visa fee (if required)
- A living allowance of £30 per day
- A materials budget of £200 for the 3 week curator residency and £300 for the 6 week artist residency
- Local travel pass for London Underground and buses
- A single bedroom with a desk at Delfina Foundation –house which hosts up to 8 residents with shared facilities, including: bathrooms, laundry rooms, a kitchen, library, and dining room.
Eligibility Criteria
- The recipients must be a Czech citizens currently living and working in the Czech Republic or based in the Czech Republic with a long-term residence permit;
- Seeking an opportunity to develop their practice;
- Able to explain how the experience of an international residency may benefit their career development and local networks; and
- Proficient in English.
