The Crisis fund of the Carpathian Foundation is now open for application to responds to crisis situations in the region of eastern Slovakia.
Focus of Support
The goal of the appeal of the Crisis Fund of the Carpathian Foundation is to support non governmental non-profit organizations and schools operating in eastern Slovakia in providing assistance to people from Ukraine who are fleeing the war conflict. Provided the aid must have the character of humanitarian or integration aid, i.e. a response to a state of emergency caused by an extraordinary event, or it can significantly support the integration of refugees into Slovakian society, in particular in the form of:
- Material assistance;
- Legal, social and/or psychological assistance;
- Supporting the integration of outcasts into the educational process, into the labor market and into companies
- Support for security and prevention of human trafficking;
- Help to particularly vulnerable groups (people with health disabilities, Roma and citizens of other countries fleeing from Ukraine);
- Support for building the necessary personnel capacities of organizations that have demonstrable results in the field of helping refugees from Ukraine.
The activities supported by this grant must be implemented in the territory of eastern Slovakia and the aid must be directed exclusively to people who fled to Slovakia before the war in Ukraine.
The grant may not increase the funds drawn from other projects supported by the programs of the Carpathian Foundation (the support of the project in this call may not increase the budget of another project whose implementation is still ongoing and which was/is supported by the Carpathian Foundation in another grant program).
Funding Information
- The total amount of the program budget is € 80,000.
- The minimum amount of support for one project is 5,000 euros.
- The maximum amount of support per project is € 15,000.
Note: The grant may not increase the funds drawn from other projects supported by the programs of the Carpathian Foundation (the support of the project in this call may not increase the budget of another project whose implementation is still ongoing and which was/is supported by the Carpathian Foundation in another grant program).
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-governmental non-profit organizations, schools operating in the territory of eastern Slovakia, which have demonstrably helped and continue to help people who fled the war in Ukraine, can apply for financial resources:
- Civil associations registered, as amended;
- Non-profit organizations providing generally beneficial services registered under, as amended;
- Non-investment funds registered , as amended;
- Foundations registered, as amended;
- Universities, secondary schools and primary schools operating in the Košice and Prešov regions;
- Slovak Red Cross according to as amended.
Condition
- All applications will be evaluated in terms of meeting the basic criteria of the call – eligible applicant, focus of support, and other formal requirements of this call.
- Projects that meet the basic criteria will then be evaluated by the Carpathian Foundation from the content side – eligibility of expenses with regard to current needs, quality and scope of aid – applicants covering urgent needs and applicants who are already implementing systematic support for the target group will be prioritized.
- Support can only be granted to help people from Ukraine coming to Slovakia in connection with the war conflict in Ukraine.
- The activities of the organization supported by this grant must be implemented in the territory of eastern Slovakia.
- The funds provided from this call must be used up by 31 December 2023 at the latest.
- The successful applicant will send the final report together with the financial statement after the end of the project on a predetermined form by email.
- The Carpathian Foundation reserves the right to decide not to grant support to applicants whose actions and activities are not in accordance with the mission and policies of the Carpathian Foundation, in particular the Code of Ethics of the Carpathian Foundation, the Policy for the Protection of Children’s Rights, or if the organization’s activities are in conflict with the law and good morals.
