The European Commission (EC) is calling for proposals for Contribution of Civil Society to Greater Sustainability and Better Governance of the Cocoa Sector.
Objectives
- The general objective of this call for proposals is to contribute to the establishment of a civil society network / observatory for sustainable cocoa in Côte d’Ivoire, in connection with European civil society and national cocoa platforms. sustainability in EU countries (Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, France).
- The objective specific from here call to proposals is:
- The Ivorian Civil Society working around the issue of sustainable cocoa and its many sub-issues (economic, social, environmental, human rights, etc.) is better structured and strengthened in its communication capacities and advocacy.
Priorities
- Reinforcement of the abilities of the Company civil ivorian, there understood them organizations women and young people
- Reinforcement of the abilities techniques on the domain cocoa sustainable;
- Reinforcement of the abilities organizational, including of the cooperatives producers cocoa;
- Reinforcement of the abilities of communication and of advocacy;
- Production of analyzes and of advocacy

Funding Information
- The amount indicative overall put at arrangement to title from here call to proposals gets up at 3,000 000 EUR.
- Any grant requested in the framework from here call at proposals must be inferior Where equal to the maximum amount below:

Eligibility Criteria
- Lead Applicant(s)
- For to claim at a grant, the applicant chief of queue must:
- be a nobody moral and
- do not have none aim lucrative and
- To be a Organization of the Company civil (CSO) and
- be established in 8 a State member of The union european Where in the Republic of Coast d’lvoire from to less three year at the date of submission of the proposal and
- be directly charged of the preparation and of the management of the action with the Where co – applicants or affiliated entity(ies), and not act as an intermediary.
- For to claim at a grant, the applicant chief of queue must:
- Co-applicant(s)
- The co-applicants participate in the preparation and implementation of the action, and the costs which they support are eligible in the same way as those supported by the plaintiff head of file.
- The co-applicants must meet the same eligibility criteria as those who apply to the chief applicant of queue himself.
- The co-applicants must sign the mandate.
- If they) win(s) the contract of grant, them) co-applicant(s) will become (will become) the beneficiary(ies) of the action (with the coordinator).
- Affiliated Entities
- The lead applicant and its co-applicant(s) may act with affiliated entity(ies).
- Only the following entities may be considered as affiliated entities to the lead applicant and/or to coapplicant(s):
- Only entities having a structural link with the applicants (i.e. the lead applicant or a co-applicant), in particular a legal or capital link.
- This structural link encompasses mainly two notions:
- Control, as defined in Directive 2013/34/EU on the annual financial statements, consolidated financial statements and related reports of certain types of undertakings:
- Entities affiliated to an applicant may hence be:
- Entities directly or indirectly controlled by the applicant (daughter companies or first-tier subsidiaries). They may also be entities controlled by an entity controlled by the applicant (granddaughter companies or second-tier subsidiaries) and the same applies to further tiers of control;
- Entities directly or indirectly controlling the applicant (parent companies). Likewise, they may be entities controlling an entity controlling the applicant;
- Entities under the same direct or indirect control as the applicant (sister companies).
- Entities affiliated to an applicant may hence be:
- Membership, i.e. the applicant is legally defined as a e.g. network, federation, association in which the proposed affiliated entities also participate or the applicant participates in the same entity (e.g. network, federation, association,…) as the proposed affiliated entities.
