Open Call for Innovative Solutions for Decarbonization and a Just Green Transition (Serbia)

Grand Challenge Call for Proposals to Advance Innovative Ways to measure Women’s Health

Deadline: 15-Aug-22

In the “Jevremovac” Botanical Garden in Belgrade, the “Public Call for Innovative Decarbonization Solutions Contributing to a Just Green Transition in Serbia” has launched by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with the Ministry of Mining and Energy and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Belgrade and in cooperation with the Japanese Business Alliance in Serbia.

The goal of this call is to help implement innovative solutions for the decarbonization of the economy and industry in Serbia, as well as for the retraining of workers from sectors that are based on the intensive use of fossil fuels. In addition, this Call will encourage the strengthening of cooperation between companies from Serbia and companies from Japan and the European Union that apply the principles of green business.

The “Just Green Transition and Decarbonization in Serbia” project, within which a public call was opened, represents the continuation of activities that are part of the “Climate Promise”, a global initiative of UNDP to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve adaptation to climate change. The Japanese government has provided financial support for the advancement of climate ambitions, while respecting the principles of a just green transition, in 23 countries around the world, including Serbia.

Eligibility Criteria

Companies from the private and public sector can apply for it. The teams whose solutions are selected will receive expert and mentoring support to develop their ideas, and the best five solutions will receive financial support to implement their ideas in practice.
