The Oregon Chapter of the Wildlife Society (ORTWS) awards small grants in support of wildlife outreach and education in the Pacific Northwest, consistent with the mission and goals.
The mission of ORTWS is to serve and represent wildlife professionals in all areas of wildlife conservation and resource management. The Chapter fulfills its mission through:
- Developing and maintaining a program that facilitates professional development of natural resources professionals,
- Promoting stewardship of wildlife and their habitats through the use of sound ecological information,
- Increasing awareness and appreciation of wildlife, and
- Developing an active and diverse membership and maintain an organization that provides excellence in member services.
Funding Information
Funding is competitive, and awards typically range from $200-$1,000 (US dollars).
Grant Review Criteria
- Consistency with ORTWS mission and goals
- Impact on outreach and education related to wildlife
- Appropriate audience for the work (e.g., members of the public, students)
- Feasibility of the project (does the timeline and workload seem realistic)
- Appropriateness of budget
- Demonstration of a clear link to Oregon or the Pacific Northwest (preferred)
