The U.S. Embassy Lebanon’s Public Affairs Section (PAS) is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Grants Program.
PAS Lebanon invites proposals for programs that foster civic engagement on anti-corruption, inclusiveness, and good governance; showcasing U.S. values through capacity building and economic sustainment; English language study and programming; and supporting arts and culture programming. All programs must include an American cultural element, or connection with American expert(s), organization(s), or institution(s) in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives.
Priority Program Areas
U.S. Embassy Lebanon seeks proposals that address the following priority program areas:
- Fostering civic engagement on anti-corruption, inclusiveness, and good governance;
- Showcasing U.S. values through capacity building and economic sustainment programs;
- Promoting English Language learning and programming; and
- Supporting arts and culture programming.
Funding Information
- Length of performance period: up to 12 months
- Number of awards anticipated: 4-10 (dependent on amounts and availability of funds)
- Award amounts: awards may range from a minimum of $10,000 to a maximum of $450,000
- Total available funding: $450,000
Participants and Audiences
U.S. Embassy Beirut puts special emphasis on programs that can engage individuals outside of the capital. For youth-focused proposals, audiences are generally between the ages of 16 and 30. Women audiences have no specific age range and may include youth or community members. Priority will be given to proposals that target a large number of beneficiaries.
Eligible Applicants
- The Public Affairs Section encourages applications from Lebanon and the United States, including:
- Registered U.S. and Lebanese not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations with programming experience in Lebanon;
- U.S. or Lebanese individuals;
- U.S. and Lebanese non-profit or governmental educational institutions;
- Note: U.S. and Lebanese NGOs and individuals may apply, but preference (through merit review) will be given to Lebanese NGOs or partnerships that develop capacity with Lebanese NGOs. Third country organizations and individuals are not eligible.
